Privacy Policy

TL;DR: We collect only your email. Your test answers are processed in your browser. We don't sell data or run ads. You can delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
MentalCheck ("we", "us") operates mental.nopla.app — a free mental health screening tool. We are not a medical institution. Our tools are based on validated clinical instruments (PHQ-9, GAD-7, PSS-10, ISI-7) provided as public health education, not medical advice.
2. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) + Art. 9(2)(a)) — for storing mental health screening results. Withdraw anytime by deleting your account.
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — for account management and subscriptions.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for transactional emails (magic link, receipts).
3. Data we collect
- Email address — only when you create an account via magic link.
- Mental health scores — numeric scores only (e.g. PHQ-9: 11/27), NOT individual answers. Stored only after explicit consent. This is special category health data under GDPR Art. 9.
- Payment data — processed by LemonSqueezy. We never see your card number.
We do NOT collect: individual test answers, location, device fingerprint, IP address, or demographic data.
4. How we use data
- To provide your dashboard and progress tracking
- To send transactional emails (magic link, welcome, results, reminders)
- To manage your subscription via LemonSqueezy
5. Data storage & security
Data stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL, EU servers, row-level security). Encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3).

- Access — view all data in your dashboard
- Delete — Settings → delete account → all data removed permanently
- Unsubscribe — unsubscribe link in any email
- Portability — request CSV export at privacy@nopla.app

MentalCheck is not intended for users under 16. If you are under 16, please consult a parent or guardian.

1. Acceptance
By using MentalCheck you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Service description
MentalCheck provides free and paid mental health screening tools based on validated clinical instruments. These are for informational purposes only and do not replace professional medical evaluation.
3. Medical disclaimer
- MentalCheck does NOT provide medical diagnoses, treatment, or advice
- Screening results are not a substitute for professional mental health evaluation
- In case of emergency, contact local emergency services immediately
- If you have thoughts of self-harm, call a crisis helpline immediately
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use this Service.
5. Paid plans
- $1.49 Trial: 7 days of premium access. See Refund Policy.
- $20/month: Billed monthly. Cancel anytime — access continues until end of billing period.
6. Prohibited use
- Using the Service for unlawful purposes
- Attempting to access other users' data
- Reverse engineering or copying the Service
- Using automated tools to access the Service
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MENTALCHECK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS.

MentalCheck uses only essential cookies required for the Service to function.
Cookies we use
- Supabase session token — keeps you logged in. Expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity. This is a strictly necessary cookie.
Cookies we do NOT use
- Advertising or tracking cookies
- Analytics cookies that identify individuals
- Third-party marketing cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under ePrivacy Directive. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.
04 — Refunds
Refund Policy

Trial ($1.49 / 7 days)
The trial fee gives full access for 7 days. It is non-refundable once the trial period has been used. If you experience technical issues that prevented you from accessing the Service, contact us within 48 hours.
Monthly subscription ($20/month)
We offer a full refund if requested within 14 days of the first payment of a new subscription cycle. Subsequent monthly charges are non-refundable once the billing cycle is 14+ days in.
How to request a refund
Email support@nopla.app with subject "Refund request" and include your account email. We process refunds within 5 business days.
How to cancel
- Log in to your MentalCheck account
- Go to Account Settings (icon in top right)
- Click "Cancel subscription"
Access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again.
Or email support@nopla.app — we'll cancel within 24 hours.
